Barrel Nut (also called Cross Dowel Nut, Connector Nut, or Sleeve Nut) is a cylindrical internally threaded fastener used mainly in furniture assembly, structural joints, and heavy-duty wood-to-wood or wood-to-metal connections.
It is designed with a cross-drilled threaded hole running perpendicular to its axis, allowing a bolt or connector screw to pass through and tighten securely. Barrel nuts are widely used where strong, rigid joints are required, especially in knock-down (KD) furniture systems.
